Ron Sorensen shows off his splake caught at Joe's Valley Reservoir on January 4, 2009. All the splake caught measured between 25 and 27.5 inches and their weights were estimated to range from 5 to 8 pound. Tube jigs tipped with chub meat was used and he fished in 15 to 25 feet of water just off the bottom. At the time, the ice was only 2.5 inches thick.
