Biologists collect zooplankton from waters throughout the state. These little critters are the basic building blocks of the fish food web! This sample was collected at Pelican Lake yesterday. These copepods (mini lobsters) and daphnia (fairy aliens) are the key to growing large fish.
Two anglers caught four wiper between them during May, 2019.
Biologists recently finished a gill net survey at Huntington North Reservoir and captured a massive 14.75-pound 28.5-inch wiper. The large fish weighed 3/4 of pound more than the current state record. The fish was measured and released back into the water.
